February is a short month, so I’ve naturally created a long reading list of romances and books I didn’t get to last month. So I’m aiming to read 9 books in 28 days – and that’s assuming I don’t get distracted by new releases or random books that I spot in the library (which, let’s be honest…I totally will). I’m a seasonal reader, so you can always find me reading romances in February and Christmas romances in December (check out my favorites if you ever need some festive romantic inspiration!), but there are a few non-romances on this list, as well. Fingers crossed for a snow day or two so I have an excuse to do lots of reading (doubtful)!
As part of the TBR Mix N’ Mingle, here are the books I want to read this month:
My February 2019 TBR
The Kiss Quotient
by Helen Hoang
This is the Diversify Your Reading Challenge February (Romance) pick, and I’m so excited to finally read it! I’ve heard great things and am looking to diversify my romances a bit, so this one fits the bill perfectly.
The One-Hundred-Year-Old Man…
by Jonas Jonasson
To be honest, I don’t have enough time in my life to ever write this full title. But I do consistently hear great things about the book, so I was delighted to see it was selected as the monthly pick for my local book club.
Love and Other Words
by Christina Lauren
I absolutely love modern romances, but have never read Christina Lauren! Her books always pop up as Goodreads Choice nominees and I see her name everywhere; this will be the month that I finally dive in!
Pride and Prejudice
by Jane Austen
The only Jane Austen I’ve ever read is Northanger Abbey, back in high school. I want to read more, and am starting with Pride and Prejudice, since I invested in such a beautiful copy recently!
Unmarriageable
by Soniah Kamal
This is being marketed as Pride and Prejudice in Pakistan, so I’m planning to read it right after I read Pride and Prejudice. It’ll be fun to compare the two and see which elements were pulled from P&P for Unmarriageable!
Normal People
by Sally Rooney
I really hoped to get to Normal People in January but didn’t, so it’s a priority for Feb. I’ve heard so many great things, so my expectations are quite high. But I have this feeling that Sally Rooney may just become one of my favorite authors!
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
by Jenny Han
After watching the Netflix film last year, I’ve been meaning to read this and the two others in the series. I finally put it on hold at the library and it’s arrived just in time to kick of my romance-heavy February!
Absolutely Smashing It
by Kathryn Wallace
I requested an ARC of Absolutely Smashing It because it sounds like a fast, light-hearted read and I haven’t torn through one of those in awhile. And the tagline is when “FML” means family which sounds all too real.
Famous In A Small Town
by Emma Mills
This is a YA romance full of small town quirks and country music references. And it’s the only one on this list that I’ve already started. Currently reading while listening to Kacey Musgraves on repeat!
Nine books in 28 days is totally doable, but I’m struggling to finish books at the moment. Hopefully the selection of romances in this one will get me out of my reading rut and I’ll be reviewing all 9 of these at the end of the month! And, if I get through them all, I have my eye on Fawkes by Nadine Brandes, Washington Black by Esi Edugyan, and Bad Blood by John Carreyrou, which are all currently at the top of my eternal TBR. Oh, and The Dreamers by Karen Walker because my hardcover will be arriving soon!
What are you reading this month?

I love that picture – it’s so pretty! Hope you love Pride and Prejudice because it’s my go-to for favorite book of all time! If you want to join, I host a monthly linkup to share our TBR list. It just went up today so hop on over to my blog if you’re interested! http://www.neverenoughnovels.com
Thank you! My trusty polar bear mug always comes in handy 😉 I’m reading The Kiss Quotient now, but Pride & Prejudice will 100% be my next read. I’m so excited but also so nervous!
I’m excited for Unmarriageable myself – you just reminded me to request it at the library 🙂 Pride & Prejudice is wonderful, and I hope the retelling is too! Good luck meeting your goal this month!

I’ve just realized I 100000000% prefer the US cover for Unmarriageable so I might hold off reading until I’m next in the US in April. Being a book cover snob sucks! Can’t wait to finally read Pride & Prejudice, though!
I’ve seen a lot of people reading The 100 Year Old Man… lately. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it when you finish. Good luck finishing your long list this short month!
Thank you 🙂 I’ll definitely include my thoughts on The 100 Year Old Man in my reading roundup…if I ever get to it, that is!
I have a tendency to get distracted by new books too especially when they come up ready to checkout from the library!
Yes! I have such a massive TBR but literally everywhere I go I’m like “ooh, new book, I need that!”. And I get so excited for a new book that I forget about all the other ones I want to read!
Ahh I loved the 100-Year-Old Man by Jonas Jonasson! It was different and quirky, and as soon as I finished I went to find more books by him!
I’m excited to read it…except I have so many other books to read, too!
