Wondering what to do in London this weekend? I’ve got you covered (this one time only!). Kelly’s London List is going to be a weekly newsletter that goes out every Monday with recommendations on what to do in London that week. It will include some pop-up and one-off events, but will also include things that you can do whenever you are in London, whether that’s the current week or in a years time!
To give you an idea of what Kelly’s London List will look like, I’ve decided to post a weekend edition on the blog – just this once! If you like what you see and what to receive my recommendations every week, sign up here!
What to do in London this Weekend (11-13 August 2017)
The weather hasn’t been on our side over the past couple of days, but it looks like we should get a few decent days this weekend. So it’s time to soak up the last days of summer before they’re completely out of reach for 10 months! Here’s what you should do in London this weekend:
I spend a lot of time keeping my eye out for new American restaurants in London. I love trying them out and seeing just how close to home they hit. Plaquemine Lock recently opened and Sean and I visited with his parents. Their cajun food is so incredible! Get the blackened chicken! I’m not from New Orleans so cannot comment on the authenticity of it, but I can surely tell you it made me want to visit New Orleans even more. Plaquemine Lock is also located along the canal, which is a lovely place to go for a walk after (if it’s dry!). If you’re eating at home this weekend, we recently made these Salmon Souvlaki Bowls and they were oh so good!
There’s an Espresso Martini Festival this weekend, and like many of London’s fabulous drinking festivals, it takes place throughout the entire city! Purchase a pass for £10 and get wired on £5 espresso martinis at some of the best bars in London. Just don’t plan on getting any sleep that night 😉 Purchase tickets here.
Mix up your date night this week with Shakespeare’s Summer of Love at The Globe. King Lear is on Friday and Saturday, with two performances of Much Ado About Nothing on Sunday (Buy Tickets Here). There’s nothing better than sipping wine in the open air while enjoying a performance at The Globe. When you’re all loved up after, cozy up for a pint (and dinner) at The Anchor.
If you have yet to pay a visit to London’s very own beach, get there before we lost summer for good! Neverland London is located on the bank of the Thames at Fulham Beach and offers a beach party-like experience (minus the swimming). Book out a hut or find a place to lounge and enjoy their delicious street food. It’s BYOB, too! Read more on the Neverland London website.
